In the early 1980´s Jan van Dalen was one of the top cycling amateurs in the Netherlands. Jan has extensive experience as a rider in international competitions, for several top teams where a good supervision was essential for good performance.
After his cycling career Jan put his entire focus on one of his great passions, namely the building of professional racing bikes under the DUELL brand name. It was in 1986 that he came to this decision and so over the years Jan built a strong commercial brand. In the 30 years that he has been an active frame builder and businessman, he has built custom frames for many professionals.
